Teacher training courses are available to both Native and Non Native English speakers that display a high command of the English language.  The course is also suitable to existing English language teachers as a “refresher” course.

The course covers the following:

The course also prepares students for all 3 modules of Cambridge’s Teaching Knowledge Test (TKT):

Module 1 - Language and background to language learning and teaching.

Module 2 - Lesson Planning and use of resources for language teaching.

Module 3 - Managing the teaching and learning process.

  Course Name: Teacher Training

English Requirements: An Advanced level of English is required to do this course. A placement test and oral interview is conducted prior to the commencement of this courses.

Duration: 120 hrs

Class Size: 10 Max

Availability: All year - subject to availability. A minimum of 6 students is required. Classes do not run concurrently.

Course times: Saturdays (Intensive) 8.30 -13.30
Alternative times can be arranged.

While the core bulk of the course is conducted on Saturdays, participants may be required to take class observations / teaching practise outside of these times. Students must also maintain a portfolio throughout the course. A final project and examination will be given at the end of the course.

Worldwide English also offers a service to students who can take intensive teacher training courses in Ireland.

At Worldwide English, students work with highly trained and motivated English language teachers who have been chosen for their qualifications, experience and ability to work enthusiastically with students. All teachers are all university graduates with recognised EFL qualifications and above all, many years of successful teaching experience. They provide every possible opportunity to get the most from the students’ time in the school. The English teachers assist students to set clear learning objectives and encourage them to participate in all learning activities. The Director of Studies and teaching staff carefully monitor students work and advise them on their progress, exams and assist students who wish to be given extra work for private study.
